Press Release: Texans for Traffic Relief statement on White House infrastructure plan

AUSTIN, Texas—In response to the infrastructure plan released today by the White House, Texans for Traffic Relief spokesman David White issued the following statement:

"We’re thrilled to see that President Trump's infrastructure plan cuts red tape, speeds up the permitting process, and incentivizes local control, all of which will play a critical role in allowing Texas more flexibility to improve our state’s strained roadways. However, Texans for Traffic Relief has serious concerns about our state’s ability to take full advantage of the plan because of current policies that restrict private sector investment. With Trump’s plan, Texas has been handed an opportunity to help alleviate traffic congestion without burdening taxpayers, and the legislature should take action in 2019 to ensure we can take full advantage of it."
